World Cup fever comes to the Berkshires!
Soccer Film Festival at MASS MoCA, North Adams, MA
April 23 – 24, 2010 (the end of vacation week!)
Kicking & Screening brings together soccer fans and cinephiles to celebrate the passion, athleticism, and wildly fervent nationalism of soccer as captured on film. As the biggest two weeks in world sport approach, join us for two days of screenings, panels, and performances celebrating the passion and pageantry of the beautiful game.
Friday, April 23
- 1:00 p.m. Sixty Six England is about to be consumed by World Cup fever, but for 12-year old Bernie, his Bar Mitzvah looms large
- 3:00 p.m. Soccer Juggling Demonstration with Freestyle Soccer, the premier freestyle juggling posse in North America
- 8:00 p.m. Feature film: Les Yeux Dans Les Bleus a penetrating documentary that follows the 1998 World Cup victorious French team.
Saturday, April 24
- 1:00 p.m. Soccer ShortsIn the Blood, Mauro Shampoo Soccer Player, Hairdresser and Macho, and Beyond Soccer (Loucos de Futebol)
- 3:00 p.m. Panel Discussion: We Call It Soccer: The USA’s Influence on the World’s Game
- 8:00 p.m. Feature film: 90 Minutes: The World Cup of New York CityA group of New Yorkers from 32 countries experience the 2006 World Cup in the city.
Tickets for these events are available on each event’s webpage, but don’t miss a moment by buying a Festival Pass. We’re going for sure! Maybe we could organize a team picnic or something like that in between juggling and the film on Friday?
Festival pass $25 adults/$15 students and kids. Individual events $8 adults/$5 kids. Members 10% discount
